The best draft from this decade featured 2 players? Uhhh, okay!

2 Hall of Fame players. 2 All-Time greats. How many other drafts have that? I mean I know you think the top 16 should be the Ravens from 96-2011 and everything, but getting an all-time great QB and all-time great RB in the same draft is very impressive.

Mmmm, okay. Neither of those players have won a Superbowl with the Chargers. One was traded away because they drafted his successor, Philip Rivers, and the other traded / released (I can't remember which, I think it was released) because of his poor production and age. Sure they are great players but neither of those guys won a Superbowl with the Chargers! I would almost argue the 2005 draft (Sproles, Jackson, Merriman, and Castillo) was a better overall draft because those 3 of those players are now anchors for that team.

Heck, maybe the 2004 draft was better, featuring Rivers, Shaun Phillips, Kaeding, Hardwick, and Michael Turner. Even though Turner and Olshansky are no longer with the team, Rivers, Phillips, and Kaeding are perennial Pro-Bowlers and still anchors of the team and Rivers and Phillips are 2 of the main reasons why they have the #1 defense and #1 offense.

But, for me I think the best draft for a team in the past 10 years would have to be one of the Chargers' drafts that I just mentioned. The amount of Pro-Bowlers in those drafts are amazing, and who knows which of them will be Hall of Famers.

But honestly I think it's misleading to say that the best draft of the past 10 years were 2 players who never won a Superbowl with that team and neither one of them ended their careers with that team, either. But that's just my opinion.

Some of them were a little out there.

Like the Adrian Peterson/ Sidney Rice one.

AP I can agree, but Sidney Rice has had what 1 good season with a QB that played the best in his career? I wouldn't say he's great yet.

The the LT and Brees? Yeah they are/were great players but Brees has done more for the Saints than he has the Chargers. I can't really put that up there.

I'm hoping the 2010 NFL Draft for the Seahawks pans out as one of the best in the last 10 years...
