BYU Honor Code
What do you guys think of this?
I think that they have every right to make whatever code they want; they aren't a public university. I admire their ability to stick to the rules and not bend them.
But is it realistic to expect students (especially high profile athletes) to avoid the common vices of college life?

Re: BYU Honor Code
Here's my theory: You chose to go to BYU, you should follow the rules. BYU is probably pretty Expensive, so going there is definitely not by force.
But here comes my horrible Stereotypical view on this. I hate BYU. I hate them. I have actually became a Utah fan, just because I hate BYU so much. The Mormon religion is one of those religions, that, well, it bugs me. It's almost on the same page as my strong hate towards Scientology. I feel that the Honor Code is pretty unfair for people that want to get a quality education, but that's not to say you shouldn't follow it. If you go to BYU, you should not hate on something the school is built on. BYU is run by the Mormon Church for crying out loud! If you go to BYU, you should be a Mormon. Hello? That's common sense.
But let me say this, Jimmer Fredette plays the game of Basketball extremely well. Even though I disagree with his "choice" in life, he is still one of my favorite basketball players.

Also, this should be probably moved to a different section. The BYU honor code is for every single person on Campus, not just the Basketball team. But I understand why you put this in the College Basketball section anyway.

I like that code. It's simple but the standards of the world have been lowered in our generation that it makes BYU look old fashion. No smoking or drinking and no sex unless it's with your spouse. What good comes out of those things? I like that they don't lower their standards for anyone. I still wonder how far they would have made it if they didn't suspend Brandon Davies.

I like that they stayed true to their principles. If you attend you should abide by their code of honor. Event though I might not believe in their religion I do have respect for their honesty and for putting principles above winning in basketball games.
