Anybody else see this bull shit. Basically NFL and another program are teaching our nations youth to tackle with their heads up. It doesn't sound too bad but when you see it looks so retarded.

Basically this is a brain washing technique they're trying to use. Soccer is going to end up being more physical than football.

Heads up is the way Ive always been taught and is the way I coach it now.

Facemask on the ball/head across the body.

This allows the neck to flex backwards instead of compressing the discs and vertebre in the neck not to mention it avoids spearing (leading with the crown of the helmet). This allows the player to keep his eyes on the target and not staring at the ground (as you would be if you were leading with your helmet). Any decent ball carrier will make a juke move the second any D playewr lowers thier head to tackle and loses sight of the ball carrier. i know I used to do it all the time as a QB.

Its the safer, smarter more efficient way to tackle.

This is a good pic... We always tell the kids to "BITE THE BALL"

By lookin at the pic, he got his head across the body in order to try and put a face mask on the ball (causes more fumbles than you would think). Ive been taught different variations in the different leagues/schools Ive played for but the head was always up and "Biting" the ball while arm placement varied from under the butt to lift and drop or around the waist to tackle. Head was always up though.

Maybe it just looked retarded the way they were doing. It looked like they were doing the squat workout, like they weren't lowering their shoulders... Idk maybe i'm just being more hateful to the NFL because of all the recent BS
