they play to totally different positions...i mean comparing a Safety to a CB is a little crazy, both have tremendous talent , but you really cant compare the 2....a better comparison would be Eric Berry vs Taylor Mays...i think Berry wins that one.

Peterson is a better athlete but I think Berry played his position better

That being said, I think Mays has a pretty high ceiling. I think in a couple years he'll be really good.

i agree 100%.. Mays has awsome athletic ability and so does Berry, both those guys are very similar....maybe with the coaching change in SF it will allow Mays to roam more freely

On paper they play different positions, but they can play both. Eric Berry actually played a little bit of LB too at Tennessee. I think you can compare PP and Berry better than Mays and Berry. Both are pretty much the same height and weight. Both make great breaks on the ball. Both are great running with the ball. Mays is just an athletic freak but if he doesn't get the game down, that's all he'll be. The guy takes forever to make his reads.

well from what I hear both of them are the best in their draft classes. but they play two different positions.

As a college fan Eric Berry was the much scarier defender to play. In the 08 LSU/Bama game Peterson went down with cramps 5 times. Berry gets my pick.
