QB contracts
I'm sure you guys have heard by now about the new Kaepernick contract extension that says its a 6 yr deal worth 110 mil with escalators that could make it a 126 mil. This all for a QB that has thrown for a total of 31 TDs without a SB victory. Right now I've looked around and nobody knows positively for sure what the details exactly are but I'm loving it that he could make more than Flacco annually. 49er fans rejoice. You have now joined the overpaid QB club. Who says QBs ain't gonna get paid. Lololol!! Haha.
Who's next? Andy Dalton. Took his team to 3 straight playoffs. More than any other QB for the Bengals have ever done albeit he's 0-3. He'll get paid. Watch!!
Alex Smith? Probally. Not too many QBs have the record he's had for the last 3 years and he turned around a downtrodden Chiefs team that should've been better.
My fave. Russel Wilson. He can't ask for an extension this year but you can bet he will next year when he's eligible to. Hometown discounts ain't happening unless its for like a million dollars maybe. Lol.
Some people say it's the team with our great defenses we can get by witout these guys. Really. The Ravens had great defenses with marginal QBs that held us back from winning more championships. Hell ask a Jet fan.

Re: QB contracts
Insane amount of money for Kaepernick. I wonder what Neff thinks of this. I think he's being crazy overpaid.
Although, it's not Kaeps fault. You only get what the team thinks you're worth. I think the amount of money the QB's (all of them) is insane. I bet that that will be something talked about in the next CBA, because this QB's are making 20+ million a year.
I do wonder how much this has to do with the cap number going up in the next couple of years.

Re: QB contracts
61 million of that deal is fully gaurenteed...as far as having a good/great defense and marginal QB play, its true, its very rare to have good quality on both sides of the ball...there are only a handful of teams that have won a superbowl with an average QB, but it can be done

Yeah..good for him but way over paid.
Should be fun now when Cam comes to the GM office next year looking for a similar contract.

Re: QB contracts
Just a quick breakdown of Kaeps contract. Maybe not such a bad deal for the 49ers seeing that only 12 mil is the signing bonus which stretches out over the 6 years.

No Mike Brown is too cheap, he'll trade him for some money lol.
But ya the deal Kaepernick got is ridiculous. Wayyyyyyy too much for a guy who I believe was being questioned on whether or not he is a legit starting quarterback during the first part of last season
