Yeah, any head man of a company that treats its employees like this does not deserve my money, or anyone elses for that matter.

It's nothing unusual.
GTA IV came out 5 years after GTA: San Andreas.
Alan Wake came out 6 years after it was accounced
Skyrim is going to be out 5 years after Oblivion
Duke Nukem Forever was out 13 years after it was accounced.
Like Puppetz says, I don't read the credits either.

The point isn't about how long it took. Its the way staff were treated whilst making it. If it took 7 years isn't the problem.

"you were just a resource to be burned through," (talking about employees)
^That alone is terrible
"They created a below-junior position; 'graduate junior', I think, so they could pay less and push people around."
^ Also terrible
"I'm not in any way upset or disappointed by what I've done, and what I've achieved," he continued after a pause. "I'm not even remotely defensive about it. I think, if people want to do what I've done – to come here and do that – then good luck to them. If people who've left the company want to go out there and have some success, then good luck to them. If they don't want to do that with me, that's fine, too. It's like musical differences in a rock and roll band, right? People say they do want to do it; some don't."
-From Brendan McNamara
"To meet each development milestone – around one per month, he says – his workload would jump to between 80 and 110 hours per week" (no overtime) The article mentioned someone who worked at EA and recieved $30 million from the court. He worked 85 hours a week.

Re: Why L.A. Noire took 7 yrs...
To puppetz and mutant, did you read behind the lines of the article or the article at all? As others have said, the point isnt that it took 7 yrs, the point is WHY it took 7 yrs and what was behind it. The guy treated his employees like dirt, was unapprecative, and just plain arrogant. Would any of you two want to work for a game company like this, let alone support it? Now that I think about it, I feel just as bad supporting products made in china, by sweatshops. Its not like we have a choice anymore anyway, seeing as literally everything is made in china. I think the article stated that more than 100 people came in and out, becasue they were either fired or got tired of the way they were treated, they had a very high turnover rate, if that doesnt say something, I dont know what does.

Re: Why L.A. Noire took 7 yrs...
i would be absolutely livid if i worked several 100 hour work weeks and quit due to reasonable circumstances before the game came out and get no overtime pay.
Thats fucked. Force your employees to work damn near endless hours for 7 years to force them to finish it and not have to pay for overtime hours because they worked in a clause that made it to where if the employee quit before 3 weeks after release they wouldnt see one cent of over time pay. Un-fucking-believable....
