no, not HOF worthy. very good pro qb, but never considered elite.

Re: Kerry Collins Retires
This guys stats are HOF worthy IMO, but he's not "iconic" like alot of Hall of Famers are

True, he put up the numbers though, although that could be because he played for so long.
Plus how many "journeymen" QB's do you know in the HoF?
Re: Kerry Collins Retires
Kurt Warner considered a journeyman? Kerry Collins doesn't deserve to be in HOF!

kurt warner was definatly a journeyman and really a product of good coaching and great talent around him. sure he looked great with larry fitz (future HOF), boldin (meybe with a ring?), and breaston (pretty great for a #3) to throw to in arizona, and issac bruce (future HOF), torry holt (future HOF), and marshall faulk (current HOF) to play with, but he was really just an average or a little above average qb. probably will make the hall of fame though.

Wouldn't you say he is better than Collins?

Re: Kerry Collins Retires
no HOF for Collins, he has been a 'mediocre" QB his entire career, the best comparison i can make to him would be Vinny Testaverde or Steve DeBerg..neither of those guys are or ever will be in the HOF, so Collins shouldnt be there either

Yeah, and how many other current HOF QB's didn't have loaded offenses?
Are we going to take our Aikman because he had Smith and Irvin on his team?
What about Montana with Rice and Craig?
Or Bradshaw with Swann and Harris and the best defense in the league at the time?
I'm not being a Warner homer or anything but to suggest that he's an average QB just because he had some talent around him is nuts. Half the QBs in the HoF now had a lot of talent around them too. But I bet you're not going to discredit Montana as being "only good because he had the greatest WR ever to play the game" are you?

Re: Kerry Collins Retires
In addition, when Kurt Warner played for the Giants, if I remember correctly he led them to a 5-2 record through the first 7 games. Then Coughlin put in Eli Manning after the Giants lost 2 games straight. Eli Manning came in and went 1-6 with the team.Mutant wrote:poshmidget wrote:at23steelers wrote:Kurt Warner considered a journeyman? Kerry Collins doesn't deserve to be in HOF!
