After signing Joe Flacco to the riche$t contract in NFL History, the Ravens have decided its time for Flaccos favorite target ( and WR that bailed out alot of Flaccos bad passes ) to get rewarded too, in the form of a PAY CUT!!! are you kidding me? Boldin basically single - handily raised Flaccos numbers AND in effect his new contract by snagging tons of mis-placed passes that actually contributed to the Ravens success...if Boldin doesnt take a pay cut? he will be released Shocked

Boldin is on a NON GAURENTEED 6 million dollar season for 2013, that seems to be very fair to the Ravens, why are they demanding he take less? hes proven that hes reliable and can make players around him better...maybe Flacco can pony up the difference between what the Ravens will pay Boldin and his current contract, seems fair to me... after all, Boldin IS the reason Flacco had such a good run.

Ray, Ellerbe, Boldin, Kruger, Reed. All these players that they either lose or still have to resign. To many players to replace, not enough money.

Sounds like we are gonna see just how "ELITE" Flacco is when he doesn't have any help on D like many of the best QBs out there. Think he can carry the load? Evil or Very Mad

Me, personally? No, I don't think he can. But time will tell.

lol boldin wasent ask to do anything.

his agents wants him to get released so he can get a bigger contract at the age he is right now.

Kruger was only a 3rd down pass rush specialist and certainly not worth the money he will command.
he is terrible against the run and it was why played most snaps on 1st and 2nd down.

Ed reed is old but his knowledge and leadership would be missed so i hope he gets back.

Ellerbe is good when he plays but when is the magic word.
he has been injured alot and McClain surpassed him on the depth chard and it wasent till lewis and mcclain got injured that ellerbe got to play.

carry williams is a bum who only looked good because ed reed was covering deep and yet carry managed to give up 1st downs at an alarming rate.

Boldin is a great player but we just won the SB and chances that we repeat are slim.
The ravens made the mistake last time by hanging on to old players and they said they wont do it again.

also flacco counts less then 8 mill against the cap so you cant blame lol.
heck he and boldin count around the same against the cap so if you have to let 1 of these 2 go its pretty clear who should left go wont you say Rolling Eyes

flacco cap numbers are very team friendly first 3 years of the deal.

Love the hateful Bias on here towards Flacco Laughing

#1 Yes Boldin was good, but hes getting old. The ravens are trying to get younger. What most of you don't understand is that the Ravens were already in the crap shoot in CAP before they signed Flacco. Flaccos CAP hit this offseason is only 6 MILLION, THATS IT. 6 million is not alot of money. So regardless what some of you think, its not Flaccos big salary that is causing this issue, so you can keep thinking that if you want.

#2 Kruger is not a everydown player, and thus shouldn't be payed as one, hes going to get overpaid by someone and I will lmao because of it. Where was he in the SB? He hardly made an impact in the big game. Hes not worth the money hes asking. Upshaw will take over nicely for kruger and played good last season, with a forced fumble in the SB.

#3 Ellerbe is also someone I see whos going to get overpaid, by the ravens or any other team. This is the first year hes played well, hes injured frequently, has character issues, and so forth. So honestly? if we let Ellerbe AND kruger walk, I couldn't care less.

#4 I see Reed coming back if Ellerbe and Kruger walk, even if Ellerbe stays I see Reed returning.

#5 I'm glad Cary Williams is walking. I can't stand the guy, he has a bigger mouth than his play can prove. Hes an average corner at best, and is another one who will be overpaid. We'll be getting our shutdown corner in Webb back, so it will be Webb and Jimmy Smith, along with Corey Graham (who I think is a underated player) as the third Corner.

Personally I think this whole Boldin situation is more inflated than it really is. If you look at all the players the ravens have lost over the seasons, Ozzie alwasy finds a replacement that is just as good as the last player, for less money. One of the ravens best guards in Ben Grubbs left last offseason to the saints, and we drafted a rookie tackle who has replaced him whos played well for us, Jacoby Jones was brought in and played well, some of our FA corners have played well. Pitta and Dickson who were brought in to replace Todd Heap (when I thought he still had something left) have played well. Some of you act like Boldin is the only WR on the team, when in fact Torrey Smith has played great for Flacco, Dennis Pitta (who I think is more of a safety net than Boldin is) has been key on third downs for the ravens, Jacoby jones has even played well. We have tommy streeter who I think will develope into a good WR. ILB is a deep postition in this years draft, even Dlineman I heard are deep. Ozzie has proved hes always been good at finding replacements in FA, so I'm not worried. Flacco will be fine, the team will be fine. Do I want Boldin back, yes I do, I think hes a key part of our Offense, but will I cry about it if he leaves? No.

Yes, yes, yes, I get it, you all think Flacco is overpaid. But he is NOT, I repeat, NOT, the reason Boldin was asked to take a pay cut, even if it isn't the only reason. 6 million in Cap is not like hes taking up the whole cap space. Some of you exaggerate.

I will be honest, I don't know what it will take for Flacco to get the respect. Everyone doubted him the first few years, he kept winning, kept going to the playoffs, etc. Guys on here are doubting him, the man wins a SB, plays great in it, plays great in the playoffs, plays great in big games. Yes I know hes not some freak of nature during the regular season, but honestly, do you have to be perfect all the time in the regular season? What gets you to the playoffs? Wins, not stats. The man wins games and goes to the playoffs where is has been playing better and better in. Boldin is one man, there are other playmakers on offense that will step up. Its just puzzles me that after all the success Flacco has had, he still doesn't get the respect. WHAT DOES THE MAN HAVE TO DO????

Ok let's get this straight, Flaccos contract is cap friendly the first 3 years or so, then it balloons to like $30 million. Yes, you read that right $30 million. Of course there will be restructurings and so forth and so on.

Flaccos cap numbers are:
2013: $6.8
14:$14.8
15:$14.8
16:$28.6
17:$31.2

$52 million is guaranteed and there was a $29 signing bonus. So the $29 gets spread out over 5 years of the deal, that still leaves $23 guaranteed?

I mean the first 3 years of the deal are good, but the last couple of years the deal gets out of hand.

So it's a 3 year deal before you start with a shit load of extensions and restructurings. Which you will have to deal with probably every offseason for the rest of his career with the Ravens.

And what does Flacco have to do to gain peoples respect? I can't say, but how do you think S feels when everyone hates Cam?

I agree with you there. But its like, the man proves the doubters wring almost everytime, yet they always come up with something new after that. I guarrantee you, that if Flacco becomes more consistant during the regular season, they STILL won't give him any respect and come up with another negative about him. Phill Simms gets it right in one of his comments in madden 13, and I agree with him. I think its the fact that Flacco doesn't play pretty (which I've said before) that gets him all the flack, which he doesn't have to play pretty. He plays in his own style.

I will just take Boldins "own" words when it comes to his contract and why he IS NOT looking to take a pay cut..he is 100% correct and respectable for what he says..

"When I signed with the Ravens, I signed for four years. With me, it's all about principles. At no point, no matter how well I played, would I come back to the table and say, 'I need more money.'"

..now, Boldin has gone above and beyond what his contractual agreement was 4 years ago and the Ravens give him an ultimatum? just bad business if you ask me...is Boldin getting old? yes he is, BUT he definetly has at least 1 more season left in the tank, why not give Flacco his security blanket for another season? 6 million for a WR of Boldins calibur is CHEAP...pay the man what you originally agreed to pay the man!!

well you guys give flacco much shit because his regular season stats suck lol.
well boldin is part of that to.

he makes the tough catches but thats because he rarely gets open lol.

for his style of playing at his age its not wise to do so.

also from the latest reports he was ask to take a 2 mil pay cut which if i was him i would not do as well.
but the sides are still talking so i hope he gets a 1 or 2 year extension with some of this becoming guaranteed money which boldin gets paid and we get cap relief.

But if boldin gets cut we will get 7 mil cap relief which is alot lol.
