Video Game delema

Ok, so my xbox live runs up july 13th, a few days after ncaa comes out which I am on the fence about getting because the lack of shit on it. Now with all the hub bub about Xbox One and PS4 coming out, I am starting to think of the most efficient way to transition from the 360 to the next gen.

Now PS4 has not said anything about a used game fee and 360 games won't work on the new consoles so pretty much, I wont have much choice in keeping my 360 to replay games I love (IE Rocksmith, Red Dead, and Fallout) without having Xbox Live. I am forgoing trading my xbox in to save some cash.

So we are pretty much all afraid of Madden on the next gen of consoles absolutely sucking ass like the previous 7-8 years. so should I get madden and possibly ncaa, hold out a year and save up to get a PS4 (unless they are bigger assholes than microsoft). Other option is fore go madden in august and wait til the PS4 comes out this holiday season and get the next gen version which we have no idea how it will be.

I am honestly torn in what be the best way to go. PS4 has a good line up of games, free online gaming, and does not appear to fuck people over. but I can't really exist without a good football game, last year it was ncaa. this year it appears to be madden.

Right now here's my plan.

Wait to see the release price of the PS4. Depending on the price I will probably get it after Christmas, or wait until the price drops in the next 12 months. If the PS4 price is reasonable I'll probably just skip on getting PS3 games until the PS4 comes out then just buy the games for the PS4.

It all depends on the PS4 though. Gotta wait until more info comes out on it.

no doubt more info needs to come out. we have E3 which I am sure prices and a hard date would come out. I just hate wasting money or getting no value out of stuff you know. E3 will be a pretty good bench mark though.

I'm going to wait till E3 to make my decision. Most likely I will get a PS4 if the games are great (regardless I'll probably get a PS4 seeing as I'm not spending money on a system I'll only use half of the features on or less). I'll probably trade in my xbox to save money, which means I have until whenever the release date is/the end of the year to finish all my games I haven't finished. I figured it probably wont be worth keeping seeing as I think they will change xbox live to fit the new console, which I'm sure will cause a price increase, and single player games only last so long.

My Gameplan:

PS4
Destiny, Madden/GT5 or 6 (whatever one is out or will work)/ some other games they announce...

Like Balt I was gonna get the PS4 and get Destiny and Madden (or nba 2k assuming it comes out on next gen, they have said nothing about this game yet) to go with it most likely. I'm definitely gonna keep my PS3 for at least another year.

potential costs and such. which the prices are a bit high but they are just place holders. you cant see the consoles dropping to about what the 360 cost initially, maybe a tad more. i can see game prices going up also. ps2 games when they were new when the ps2 was relevant was 40 then 50 bucks, xbox 360 games were 60 bucks, 100 bucks for ps4/one games is a bit much.

It seems they go up about 10-15 dollars per new system. I remember when I had my gamecube they were around 30-40, then when I got my 360 they were around 50-60. I'm thinking they are going to be around 70-80 if it follows the trend I'm noticing. Hopefully more 70 than 80.

I was reading something today, I think on IGN, that sony wants to compete on price and admitted they made a mistake on pricing the PS3 so high. They said something about it might be around 300-500.

Either way, Im goin with the ps4 in 2014. No fucking way Im buyin a new system the first yr its out. I went through 2 first gen xboxs in the first yr of release. Then 1 of their 2nd release xboxs died at 14 months.

I got a 2nd release PS3 and it YLOD on me after 5 months. Ive had a 3rd release Ps3 now for 8 months and othe rthan the occasional freezing, it works decent.

If you are buying the first wave release of any major electronics, you are only asking for trouble. Good luck.

I got the ps3 the first year it came out and I still have the same one. Must have got lucky

I had a first gen xbox (got it maybe a year later) and had that thing for like 4-5 yrs until the video imput wouldn't provide any picture on the tv anymore. It didn't even RRoD on me. I got a arcade one, put my hard drive on it, and its still running today after like 2-3 yrs. Sometimes I wonder if some of these cases are just people not taking care of their system. I'm not saying they all are or your case is.

i mean with all the info coming out about the next gen, i am not renewing xbox live. it runs up july 13th so i am good til then. i dont play much online anymore since first person shooters went absolutely crazy. I play mostly sports titles and rocksmith where i plug in my real guitar and play songs. madden 25 is a 70/30 chance of me getting it and a 100% chance of me not playing online. It might end up the last 360 game i get anyway.

Well today and tomorrow are here, (and maybe Wednesday?)its E3. Its time see all the facts, pricing, games, etc. Its judgment day for us consumers (judging the consoles that is).

Started off strong with Metal Gear Solid 5. They made it an open world thingy kind of like the assassins creed series. Looked really good

Came out with a new looking 360, smaller and sleeker.

They said if you have a gold membership on live they will give you 2 free games for xbox one or something like that.

Showed world of tanks. Some tank game thats been popular on PC. Nothing big

Showed this game Ryse exlusive to xbox one. Medieval game. Looked really cool

Showing Forza 5, Not really a big racing game guy but it looks cool for a racing game

Minecraft xbox one edition. (looked exactly the same) lol

Dead rising 3 dope

Battlefield 4 dope as always
