I've actually glad we play Phoenix first, for my personal reasons. Last year when we played Phoenix I think the game started at 930? (could be wrong). But I got a night class on Monday/Tuesday(NEVER TAKE A NIGHT CLASS!) which goes from 5 to around 830, so I won't miss a game, seeing as the Wings will start at home, so the 3rd game will fall on either Monday or Tuesday. I lucked out.

I just hope Hank will be ready for the playoffs, I don't want him missing too much time.

Also for the Wings, it's kind of weird for our Defense. That 6th spot is still open and it's going to be between Ruslan Salei, or Jakub Kindl and personally? I say go with the rookie in Kindle

Well we finished with 2 home wins each in the reg season series, I really wanta see us make it back to the big game and bring one home, especially with what happened back in Feb with the Steelers.

Letang is gonna be on of our main players in this contest but they also need to watch our for Kunitz who pulled a hat trick on us back in Jan I believe.

Gotta take it one series at a time, I think well come out victorious in this one, rest of the playoffs could be painful to watch

Well, even though I can't NEVER root for the Pens, there's no way I'm rooting against THE CAPTAIN in his first playoff series. GO LIGHTNING!

I think he was hurt for a little bit but I think he was going pretty good defensively

Pens lose in 6 if Crosby doesn't play at all, win in 5 if he plays from the beginning, and win in 7 if he plays at any point after the first 2 games (which I suspect will be the case, unless we win the first 2 without him in which case I think he'd sit until round 2 or if the Lightning even out the series)

If he comes back and is anything like he was pre-concussion, even 75% of what he was, I can see us making a serious cup run, even without Malkin. Malkin is awesome but even without him we have a good enough team to be a serious contender.

Without Crosby, Malkin and a PP, I say Bolts in 6.

This series basically boils down to grit vs talent. Grinding our way to wins in the regular season is one thing. Attempting to beat a team four times in a playoff atmosphere while not having the luxury of shootouts is a completely different animal. Our defense and Fleury can only do so much. You have to score goals and I don't see us being able to match the Bolts in scoring without Crosby and a horrible PP to boot.

If Crosby comes back my opinion will change, but I don't see him coming back this season. If he was involved in contact drills a week or so ago, then I would be more optimistic. He's simply running out of time and it's a shame for not only Penguins fans, but for the league in general and for those who respect what he brings to the table every time he touches the ice.

Either way, I will be inside Consol for games 1 & 2 and games 5 & 7 if necessary.

Pavs was a beast. I found myself sitting there, jaw dropped. Watching him work his wisardry for the 1st period and most of the 2nd period. The guy is literally a wizard. If anyone saw the stick between the legs to get a better angle on Bryzgalov (spelling?) Holy Giant Clam was it awesome. Pav's has been injured most of the year so I don't know if he's just on fire because he's had so much rest or because I forgot how amazing he is with the puck, but damn.

With that being said.
Can we stop having like 10 penalties per team called a game? It's the playoffs, I expect LESS penalties, (FOR BOTH TEAMS) I HATE when there's a penalty every 3 minutes. Hockey is meant to be played 5-5 not 3-5 or 4-5.

Red Wing rant. Glad we won, but damn we slept walked through that 3rd period. It won't show it on the stat sheet but Jimmy played great. The PK was decent, killed off 1:50 of a 3-5 (AGAIN!) but they scored with 10 seconds left in the 3-5. AND I hate blowing a 4 goal lead to only win by 1. Although we did win and all 3 of their goals did come on the PP so I guess I shouldn't be too upset. GO WINGS!!!!

Your description of watching Datsyuk just makes me more depresed about Sid and Geno, the grind-it-out back to basics hockey being played by the Pens right now is okay and it wins us most of our games but it's just not the same when there's no offensive "wizardry" as you described it...it's almost like when we score, we score on accident
