QUESTION...

ok, i just finished watching the newest Clash of the Titans movie for the 10th time, its a great movie and great storyline etc etc...but there is a part in it that has me baffled, here it is...

when they go up to Medusa's Lair to slay her, the "non-human" guy that is with them gets wrapped up by Medusa's snakelike body and then she gives him the "glare" that should turn him to stone, but he doesnt turn to stone and just laughs off her attempt, she promptly squeezes him to death and throws him away.....now fast forward to the end of the movie where Persius reveals Medusa's head to the Kraken and turns it to stone, my question is WHY was her head able to turn the Kraken to stone but NOT the "non-human" to stone ? BOTH of them werent human

lol, same here man...i mean i understand that Medusa was able to turn "men" to stone with just a look and thats why she couldnt turn the "non human" guy to stone, but wouldnt that also mean her head would not be able to turn a beast like the Kraken to stone also? thats the $64,000 question.

I thought Hercules was the dude who killed Medusa?

But then, almost every story about heroes from Greek mythology seem to involve Hercules so maybe I'm getting him mixed up with someone else.

in the movie it had Persius the son of Zuess actually behead Medusa...i dont recollect Hercules being in the movie at all, and thats wierd too

It appears you've found some descrepencies then Time to do some research

ok heres the 2 scenes im talking about...in the 1st one youll notice the guy "non human" doesnt turn to stone.




...now why does a beast like the Kraken turn to stone if her stare only turned 'men' to stone?

Apparantly, Medusa turns any living flesh to stone, if its living and has blood it gets turned to stone. Sheikh Sulieman (the alien, wood looking guy) is not living flesh. He supposedly replaced his organs with dark magic and such since hes a sorcerer. So he has no blood or organs, thus he isnt living on something organic. The kraken IS living and organic with blood, thus why he gets turned to stone and not Sheikh Sulieman. If you watch in that clip too, that dark magic is that blueish light that is revelaed when meduse moves her tail away to look.
