Goodbye Albert
I think I'm in the very low minority but as a Cards fan I'm not mad at Albert for taking the best deal available and I'm also not mad at the Cards for not giving him 10 years. It was WAY to much money and years for a 31 year old (might actually be older).

Probably since it looks like Craig is out until at least mid May. I'm looking for Berkman to have a dropoff year though. Oh well, just gonna have to try and get Miller and Martinez (both SP top 5 overall prospects in MLB) and get Wainright back to 100% by the AS break. I'm just really, REALLY hoping the Cards don't go out and make a panic move like signing Rollins to a 5 year deal worth 50 million.

CORRECT! Great defensive shortstop but swings for the fences as a lead-off hitter.TheBasedPoster wrote:HurpDurpHurray wrote:I suppose Lance is moving back to 1B?

hey, this isnt like lebron leaving, idk why certain people are making the comparison. this isnt like a signing where i say, "what a dick" i sorta see he took 250 million dollars, 10 year deal, and no trade clause.
he is just looking out for him self

well it hasnt been that long since he left but as of late a lot of people at ESPN in particular are making it seem like the st louis fans are gonna go hang themselves
albert isnt from missouri, he isnt even american born, and he had a 11 or 12 year career with 3 WS shows and 2 rings.

YEah, I see it a lot with general public etc. it's retarded. There's a good group of people from Missouri going all dumb about this, but hey, what can ya expect. There's idiots everywhere that act like they wouldn't do the same shit in the situation.
Also anyone hear that the Marlins gave him a 10 year offer worth 275 millions which is like 300 without the state income tax. I'm not sure if I buy it though.
@Thadden, yeah I'd take Jimmy on a 3 year deal and even pay 15 a year. As long is it's not over 3 years then sure, why not. Also Jimmy's D is declining year by year. I'd say he's about average or a little above now.
