I am sorry Browns but...
This article is totally bogus. It talks about how Tom Heckart is a genuis. It mentions his success in Philly which is totally flawed. It mentions players that he "had a major hand in" such as LeSean McCoy, Brent Celek, Kevin Kolb, DeSean Jackson, and Jeremy Maclin.
Those examples are flawed because LeSean McCoy was supposed to be a late first round pick who slipped in to the mid-second round range. Picking him was a no-brainer. Brent Celek was a fifth round pick so if he got him then good job. With Kevin Kolb I always thought that was more Andy Reid's pick. DeSean Jackson was a mid-first rounder who slid into mid-second round due to character problems. Finally, Jeremy Maclin was supposed to be a top ten player who slid into the 19th pick due to Oakland picking DHB at 7. Again, another no-brainer.
If they want to look at the Eagles drafts then why not look at the many terrible picks. Bryan Smith- 3rd round out of McNeese State 2008-Projected as UNDRAFTED
Tony Hunt- 3rd round 2007
There are many more terrible eagles picks during his tenure
Tom Heckart's success with last year's draft for the Browns' is very valid. However, if you look the comments on the article everyone praises him as a genuis who will save Cleveland.
Heckart is hardly a genuis.
