Wow that's a big loss offensively. Defensively, I guess that was more of Avila's job? Martinez isn't exactly a stud behind the plate

Naw I don't think he played more than 10 games behind the plate. Which is good and bad, because he sucks behind the plate, but Avila was done for at the end of the year.


But yeah....that's a huge blow offensively.


The thing I'm still trying to figure out, is that ACL recovery is 4-6 months.....Its January.....At Worst he should be back by middle to late August right?

I was pissed the Sox let him go. Hes an awsome club house guy and team leader. Plus hes 30 times better than Varitek has ever been at any point in his career.

Too bad this happened to such a great guy.
