Tell that to Minnesota last year. The worst team doesn't always get the first overall pick. That's why the NBA sucks. Raptors suck this year, but somehow, we'll get the 12th overall pick or something shit like that

it is to prevent teams from tanking games which idk how prevalent it be in the NBA compared to other sports but I feel why would they tank games, they are all competing for jobs anyway so wtf

It doesn't prevent anyone from tanking. This is just so the NBA can choose who gets the picks and rig the lottery. It's amazing how that Clippers pick last year turned into the first overall, right after the horrible season Cleveland had after losing Lebron. Watch New Orleans get the first overall pick so it looks more appealing to buy.

I think the NBA draft is meaningless anyway because most of the players end up going to a specific team anyway. Sort of like baseball. Drafted by the royals or A's top of the round, end up getting traded to the tigers or yankees

the rigged thing is supposed to be the fact that while placing the envelopes into the randomizer-thing, the guy may have purposely hit the knicks envelope onto the side to make it identifiable.
