Thoughts on Mavs

Obviously their off season got off to a bad start,but they've made some moves giving some pretty good players 1 year deals.Right now their current roster is set to be

PG:Darren Collison, Jared Cunningham
SG:O.J. Mayo,Vince Carter,Rodrique Beabuois,Dominique Jones,Dahntay Jones
SF:Shawn Marion,Jae Crowder
PF:Mah boi Dirk,Elton Brand,Brandan Wright
C:Chris Kaman,Bernard James

I think it's a little better team than last years,but still not a top 3 seed.Keep in mind this is basically a one year thrown together team to make another push next free agency.They look thin at the 1,3,and 5 but keep in mind that Wright and Brand can both play the 5,with Wright looking more like a center than a forward to me last year.If we could still somehow get West I fill like this teams only weakness would be at the 3,I don't like the idea of Carter possibly having to play with his old ass against Durant.I don't see anyway they get past the Thunder,and unless the Spurs and Lakers start to show some of their stars age them either.Throw in Paul and Griffin having another year to get used to each other and this could be another long season for the Mavs.

I agree with everything you said. Collison is a decent point guard, I've always liked him..Cunningham on the other hand..lol. The Mavs are also incredibly weak at center, they're going to get picked apart inside.

However, it's pretty safe to say the Mavs will end up with a 5-6 seed and with Dirk anything is possible..while I don't see them winning a title again I do think they upset any team with the exception of the Thunder lol.

I think they're putting a little bit too much faith in guys like Chris Kaman and Elton Brand but Darren Collison and OJ Mayo were good pickups
