FIFA 12 Penalty Shoot-Out
I'm a little confused with the number of kicks it takes to win because nearly every time it doesn't work out mathematically, for example I just lost a game in this fashion:
0=make X=miss #=not taken
ME- 0 X X 0 0 #
CPU- 0 X 0 0 0 #
The CPU's fifth penalty was a game winner, but it should not have been, if I had made my final kick and the CPU had missed, then we would have been tied and should have continued, but for some reason it was declared the game winner..and this is not the first time this has happened.
Is there some FIFA rule that states the second team wins if it gains a lead in a shoot-out? I'm too lazy to check and I'm assuming there is no such rule..I should've been given a final kick AND if I had missed then I would have lost, but if I had made it then I would've had to stop the final kick.

Re: FIFA 12 Penalty Shoot-Out
Don't you only take 5 penalty kicks in soccer?

that's what I originally thought, but there are six kick slots in FIFA 12 and I've gone to six kicks with a miss before.

That's what I thought, but through minimal searching efforts on google I was unable to find even a hint of this problem with anyone else, it must be normal..yet it still doesn't make sense to me.

Maybe there's 6 slots so that in case you still don't win after 5 kicks, you can choose the 6th kicker to take the shot? I mean, it would be better that way. In NHL 12, you can only choose 5 skaters for the shootout, then it auto picks and you could have a guy with 0 goals coming to take a penalty shot

You set a lineup spanning 10+ players prior to the shootout, and extra kicks don't appear until after six kicks.

Re: FIFA 12 Penalty Shoot-Out
Dont see any problem with this though may have not read through properly
The CPU beat you 4-3 in the five penalties which you both took. It is only when tied that you go on further than five

I thought there were only five penalties originally, but when you first start taking pks, there are six kick slots, if you make it to six then it extends..just seems strange to me that there are six slots but only five kicks matter
oh well

That might just be there to show that the penalties will continue indefinitely, not sure only play fifa at my mates' really. But there are definitely only five penalties in a shootout each in football

Re: FIFA 12 Penalty Shoot-Out
poor US dudes lol
each PK serie will have 5 standard slots.
only in an event of a tie after each team taken 5 then it will go to 1 after 1 sudden death.
most shoot outs however are usually decided with in the 5 slots.
in your case you had 2 misses in the first 5 slots and the other team had 1 which made the 5th PK of the opponent the game winner.
if there are indeed 6 slots in Fifa then this once again proves how bad EA is in making sport games lol.
