BOSTON -- The Dodgers and Red Sox are closing in on a deal that would send Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford and Nick Punto to Los Angeles, though a few hurdles remain before it's official, multiple baseball sources said Friday.

Pitcher Rubby De La Rosa will be headed back to Boston as the centerpiece of the deal, sources say. De La Rosa made his first major league appearance of the season Wednesday, having had Tommy John surgery about 13 months ago. Also included are first baseman James Loney and prospects Allen Webster (right-handed pitcher), Ivan De Jesus (infielder) and Jerry Sands (outfielder), according to sources.

I don't even know how to feel about this. They got rid of shit bag Beckett and suddenly injury prone Crawford. But then they got rid of Adrian! And look at what we got back. I mean, Loney is having a shit season and the best player we get is a guy coming off Tommy John surgery.

Also, can't every team in the league claim any of these guys off waivers?

If it was my team in you guys situation,I would be all for this.It's gotta suck losing Adrian though.

I'm not. I mean, it's not like the Red Sox don't have money. And Carl Crawford was actually playing well before he got hurt again. I like getting rid of Josh Beckett though, but not at the expensive of losing Gonzo. Now we got a first basemen who can also hit for average, but has the power of Pedro Ciriaco.

God I just don't know about this team anymore. We can't even dominate the Royals anymore! The only bright spots for me is that Pedro Ciriaco is a beast and Andrew Bailey is pitching now. Other than that, I dunno. Like damn, Ellsbury can't hit for power anymore, we got Ciriaco playing 3rd because everyone is injured, and the pitching has caught a case of "WTF DO I DO WITH THIS BALL?"
