ESPN 30 for 30
On why players go broke. On now. Seems pretty interesting, just giving the heads up.

Re: ESPN 30 for 30
They explained it pretty well on the show. Its more of a psychological thing. Most people start poor at 18-21 and dont reach maximum wealth until late 40s - 50s. By then they have learned how too manage money in small increments but these players get the money at 21 and havent learned how to make it last yetStephen wrote:dudes coming out the ghetto getting million dollar checks at 21. Exactly, I think they said Vick had to hire several guys to manage his money.Thadden wrote:They explained it pretty well on the show. Its more of a psychological thing. I'd put everything in the bank, buy a house. Maybe buy a car. Only use money to pay for bills, and only carry around say $500 or so a month just for spending. Sounds like I'd be rich forever.
Re: ESPN 30 for 30
That's def not what these guys did. They went to the club and spent millions. Then they gotta pay they entourage or something man.MaddMatter wrote:I'd put everything in the bank, buy a house. Think about putting a million dollars into a savings account. Even at 1% interest, that's $10,000 a year. That would be awesome

But then how would they buy their booze and hookers?

Thats exactly what I'd do. I'd pay off the house, pay off the car, etc. So all I would have to pay is taxes and insurance, along with the amenities....
I'm lucky to have parents who taught me how to handle money. I hardly buy things as it is. To me I'd rather have it in the future than now, seeing how the future looks.....

If I made millions of dollars, Id still live broke. I grew up poor. I am so used to not having nice things so it be weird and uncomfortable.
