Man I'm gonna miss Jarome in Calgary. He's been such a great player on and off the ice. But it had to be done. Just gonna feel weird seeing him in another jersey. Today's a sad day. Hopefully this isn't the only trade the Flames make. They need to rebuild

I heard the prospects you got were "c-" prospects and a low first round pick.

I was like "that's all?"

But then I remembered that he had a no trade clause, so the cards were kind of in Iginlas hands, and doesn't he have only 1 year left on his deal?

Somehow, Calgary traded him to me in my season. lol

It was all crazy here up in the country of hockey. Iginla was scratched and everyone was like "OH SHIT HE'S GETTING TRADED!" Then Boston sat two prospects, who were not too great of prospects as well, and everyone was like "OH HE'S GETTING TRADED FOR THEM!" Then Feaster announced it and everyone was like "oh..."

But ya, there's not much you can do on a guy who is slowly digressing, got a 1 year deal and wants out. But it's a first round pick in a deep draft and two college players who could be great. I'll keep my head up. I'm just hoping this isn't all the moves Feaster makes. I hope Jay Bouwmeester is out the door next

Word has it that Boston had the OK from the Flames. Deal was done then suddenly there was no contact from Calgary and a few hours later it was announced that Pitt got him.

Local sports radio around here is bullshit about this. Supposedly Boston had already told their 2 guys they were traded because Calgary said it was a done deal and OK with Iginla.

Gonna be good to hear what actually happened other than speculation and radio rumors cause the Bruins are in need of help in a bad way.

Ya I heard that too. To be honest, I think the prospects involved with that Bruins trade (Bartkowski and that Russian dude) are better than what players we're in the deal with the Penguins. But I also heard it would have been a CONDITIONAL first round pick, conditional on Iginla resigning with Boston. And I don't think Boston has a ton of cap space so that would have been very risky
