Wished they'd take Juan Castillo off our hands too.

I hope the Ravens will try to get Norv Turner but they never get what I'm hoping for. Hell they'll probally promote Castillo. Actually Castillo may have already been running our O.

Because Caldwell's last HC gig went well...

I've got my fingers crossed for you Matt. I'm honestly surprised they didnt look elsewhere after losing the Whiz sweepstakes

THANKS DETROIT! Now that the Ravens have him of their hands, lets try to get a real OC who actually isn't bland and mixes up plays and has a playbook.

I'm with Willbacker, hopefully they can get Norv, but I don't see it unless Cleveland lets him go soon and not after they get a new HC. I get the feeling the Ravens want to act early so it gives them time to inplement a new playbook and get continuity.

For the love of god please don't make Castillo the OC, PLEASE! If that happens I may just start waiting for next offseason and the 2015 draft and just give up on this season...

Good luck Matt, I wish you luck

Optimistic point of view:

He was Peytons QB Coach.
He went 14-2 (probably should have gone 16-0)
Went to the same amount of Super Bowls as Dungy in less amount of time
Will bring discipline

Pessimistic point of view.

He went 2-14
People in Baltimore hate him
He was fired when his QB went down and had no Plan B

I still don't know what to think.

But it was funny, someone called into the radio station I listen to and called the guy a "closet Racist" for not liking the hire. I was cracking the fuck up.

LOL thats the usual defense of Obama when people run out of facts. LOL

This hire seems more like a desperation move than a targeted hire. He probly wont be around for long so at least you have that to look forward to I guess.

In other news Kubiac was apparently in town last night for dinner with his wife, so hopefully that's a good sign. Wouldn't mind having him as a OC.

Mike Martz was spotted also, don't know much about him though.

The thing is Whisenhunt wouldn't have been no better. When the Cards did good that was all Kurt Warner. After Warner left the Cards went 5-11 twice then 8-8. i personally think they should have went after Mike Zimmer but unfortunately for the Lions the Vikes just got him. The Lions apparantly were looking for an offensive coach after dealing with Schwartz. Caldwell will help Stafford with his game but now it looks like the Lions are gonna lean heavily on Stafford now. Look for a lot of shotgun and pistol plays even on 3rd and short. That shit drove me fuckin nuts. As for the racist comments that's so 1950's. People need to just move on.

We don't want Martz. Hopefully he just wanted to visit the aquarium. He was the one that ran "The greatest Show on Turf" with the Rams the year before we won our 1st SB. Kurt Warner again was the main reason for his success. After that he's been a complete failure.

Kubiak runs a west coast O and I'm not sure if he'd be a good fit for our team. I'd personally like to see an OC that emphasizes running the ball/clock and playaction. I can't handle this 90% shotgun shit.

Wait, you're allowed to have a RB in the backfield on 3rd and short? It's better than it being 3rd and inches and going empty fucking backfield. Or throwing 8 screens in a game (Can't remember if that was the Baltimore game or the New York one, but 8+ screens in one game?)

@Balt- If you want Ray Rice to get -4 carries a game (yes that is a NEGATIVE) and for Flacco to literally die on the field from being hit so much, then yes, Martz is your answer.

First thing Caldwell says in his press conference is how passionate and knowledgeable our fans are. And how difficult it was playing at Ford Field because it was so loud.

+1 Jim, +1.

But you will be judged by Wins and Losses.

Also: Is Detroit the first and only professional sport organization that has both a GM and head coach that are black?

They just reported that they interviewed Kyle Shanahan. The thing is with shotgun, Flacco seems to work better out of it. They've been saying that for years now.

Shanahan actually might be a good fit. When he was OC at Hou they had some top Os and he was actually doing some good things with the Skins. The Skins fell cuz of Pops mishandling of RG3. The negative I've heard bout Shanahan is that he's hard to get along with.

Flacco only played out of shotgun at Del that's why he's comfortable in it but this is the pros with smarter and quicker Ds and last year he had his chance to run the show and for the 1st year we didn't make the playoffs. I luv Flacco but he's no P. Manning. Only times we should use the shotgun is when we need to mix it up,it's hot or we're down big time in the 4th qtr. I know it wasn't all the time but it sure seemed like it to me.

Reports going around that we're going to hire Joe Lombardi as OC.

I like it.

Reports are also going around that Scott Linehan interviewed for the Raves OC job.

My thoughts: LMFAO
