Great story, I wish stories like this were more common.

Lol dove in the pool with his phone in his pocket. What is he suppose to do? Just tell the kid to stop drowning while he puts his phone away?

Great story, I just hope nobody uses this as a way to justify the lockout (believe it or not some asshole might) he could say something like "look if there wasnt a lockout he would have been in mini-camp and wouldn't have had the oppurtunity to save his life, now I want more money!"MaddMatt wrote:http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/06/13/chiefs-tight-end-leonard-pope-saves-six-year-old-from-drowning/

They didn't let him change into his swim trunks neither.

Question: why did the mom just stand there screaming and not do anything herself? It was a swimming pool at her house, not a tidal wave at the ocean or something.
Gutless bitch.

The bolded part should answer your question.

I'm glad to know that he saved that kid. Very good story.

ok so lets paint the picture here.
you have a pool party with several people. you have a kid not being watched by his mother. so this kid falls in and no one in the pool or standing in the pool tries to get the kid. let me guess they saw the kid fall in and struggle, here the mom screaming, and they all stand around like "er should we do something or uh wait?....uh *sip beer*"
This NFL player is like the dude to save him. not the people outside and shit or the kids mother.
just bullshit

Exactly, if you own a fucking swimming pool, you shouldn't be afraid to swim in what, 8 feet MAX of water? I can't imagine a parent who wouldn't jump in 8 feet of water and try to save their child...
I mean I can MAYBE understand if this were at the ocean and he was 50 feet out in a riptide during a storm, and you wouldn't know what to do and panic and just scream like that, but a kid drowning in a private, residential swimming pool in someone's backyard shouldn't be much of a problem...If Im anywhere near the pool when it happened I wouldve been in the water before Pope even had time to react to the mom screaming...

Maybe the mother is 400 LB and the displacement of the pool water from her jumping in would cause a tidal wave so strong that the current would drag the little kid into the other end of the pool, which would be too far for this fat bitch to swim?

Re: Leonard Pope Saves Kid
The phrase mountains out of molehills comes to mind
He got a kid out of a pool for fucks sake, its not dangerous to anyone and because it was a pool party, I don't see why none of the kids just got him out of the pool. If he had gone into the ocean and saved kid caught in a rip tide then that would of been news worthy, but this is nothing.

What else is there to write about?
The CBA is still unsigned so there's no trade or F/A stuff to talk about. No training camps and shit to prepare for.
PFT has been scraping the barrel for these kind of stories for months now.
Blame the NFL.
