No he is running Back who could back up Bradshaw and help us in short yardage situations.

tolbert isnt just a FB, he is a slash type guy. Good 3rd down back, short yardage, can block, catch, versatile type player. Considering they lost jacobs, he be a decent pick up.

I know Tolbert is versatile but I wouldnt want my team to overpay for the guy, especially if hes just coming in as a backup

fair enough but he could be a good band aid for the giants back field for the next 2 or 3 seasons, you give him a 4 year deal, maybe like 2-3, maybe 4 mill a year and he can fill a role that 2 or 3 guys could. frees up space for other positions

Re: Free Agency 2012
I just read somewhere that Tolbert is either signing with Carolina or Pittsburgh. I dont know why we would be in the mix since we have DeAngelo Williams and Jonathon Stewart. Unless there thinking about trading one of them which would piss me off.

Yeah saw he didn't have a visit scheduled with the Steelers.
@Hurp. Bengals get there first free agent in former Panther guard Travelle Wharton. Good luck to him. Wish he could have stayed around but he wouldn't restructer his contract. I'll always remember when JStew took off for like 70 yards then got caught and fumbled at the 1 and he ran all the way down there and recovered it. Good times.

lol, no shit man, Landry is a freaking MONSTER at 6'1 220lbs, he would be a huge upgrade over Jim leonhard ( 5'9 170lbs or Eric Smith 4'3 120lbs )

I wonder how hard it is for him to lift his arms above his head.

He's injury prone and sucks in coverage though. But that said, I'd still take him over who I have

leonard is a good mentor, spent his whole nfl career in rexs system, but we need more athleticism and size

Re: Free Agency 2012
Ive only seen limited stuff on Landry so i figured i would "youtube' his highlites and i have to say, Im pretty impressed, not only does this guy hit like a Mack truck but he keeps it all legal, no headshots...it makes me hope the Jets sign him even more

but you also have to take into account the defense he played on, i think Landry would do great in Rex' system, especially having a CB trio that consists of Revis,Cromartie and Kyle Wilson all manning up on thier guys instead of relying on Deangelo Hall and whoever else the Skins had in that secondary.

our corners really do help everything. Revis, cro, and kyle are all solid corners who even if they allow a catch, make the tackle.

Puppetz this isn't a shot at you at all but its more of an observation.
You seem to fall in love with the player highlights. Just watch out, theyre the "HIGH-LIGHTS" for a reason

Gee, it must run in the family then. Cause Dawan Landry sucked for us in coverage when he played for the ravens, and that was under REX'S system.....
So puppetz, just keep in mind, that just because a player goes under Rexs system of D, still doesnt mean he will turn around and play great.....

This ^ I hear this all the time about rookie draftees. They show all the great highlights of potential rookies for a reason, to make them look good. They never (if anything hardly) show the bad highlights.....

Re: Free Agency 2012
look, regardless of his highlites, i would still want him or a player of similar stature ( 6+ ft 220lbs runs a 4.4 forty ) i even wanted us to grab Taylor Mays when he was released before last season, i am just so sick and tired of the dwarfs we have had at BOTH Safety positions, we need a big, physical presence back there and Landry would definetly provide that

Re: Free Agency 2012
So, I miss out for two days and all I've really missed is that the Jets got a new starting QB?
