Canton or SuperBowl?

Alright, I think LT may have cause some controversy when he said he would take the Hall of Fame over a SuperBowl.

So I ask you, if it was up to you, which one would you want?

For arguments sake, let's say you were a starter on the SuperBowl team.

Superbowl because it's a team game and that's a team accomplishment

in all honesty I personally would take the HOF induction....as a player I would feel more of an accomplishment knowing that I was the BEST at what I did on a week to week basis during my career.......the Superbowl is a TEAM accomplishment.

I did what I could to help the team win. HOF.

They brought the question up on the radio station I listen to about a week ago and I still can't decide.

I mean, team game, I hate losing and the Super Bowl is the only way to not end the season with a L.

But on the other hand

HoF means you were one of the best ever. But I'd still feel like I didn't accomplish anything without a SuperBowl.

It's a very tough question for me.

not really Matt, and you should know better than anybody that when you have a certain talent on your team that does EVERYTHING possible to help your team win and you still lose then maybe that TEAM didnt deserve anything but that PLAYER deserved some recognition...Barry Sanders comes to mind

Oh yeah I agree. But still, even if I was the best player on the team and I did everything I could to help the team win. I'd still look back and be like "damn, never won a Super Bowl" You know Barry does.

na, Barry only stopped playing because Walter Payton was deathly sick and Barry didnt want Payton to see him break his All Time record for Rushing yards...guys like Emmitt Smith ( who sucks BTW ) dont have the heart of Barry Sanders, I respect and know exactly why barry called it quits...he loved football and he did the best he could every week, that in itself earns him a HOF spot...sure the SB ring wouldve been nice but in the grand scheme of things the Lions just didnt have it all in place

The point is made, you don't have to be a great player to win a Super Bowl, but you need to be one of the best to be in the Hall.

I would probably lean towards the Hall, just because it is a team sport and no matter how good you are no one person can carry a team to a Super Bowl win. Just because you win the Super Bowl doesn't make you a great player, being in the Hall does.

But there would always be that thing in me saying "You shoulda won the big one!"

in that Hilite Clip i really enjoyed Barry juking out All Pro Lawyer Milloy AND All Pro Ty Law en route to a Touchdown...lol, i hate the patriots and that made my day

Hall of Fame without a doubt, the honor that comes with an induction is way above that of a super bowl victory. A HoF induction is proof of a prosperous, durable career..whereas a super bowl victory could simply mean one was lucky Tom Brady was the quarterback.

Didn't ESPN ask him which he would prefer during an interview? and I think most people would choose the Hall of Fame induction..

Ok, I want to change my answer

I would take the HoF if I never won a Super Bowl and did everything in my power to make sure my team had a chance. Life if I were a Quarterback and threw 5 TD's with 0 INT's in my playoff game but my defense gave up 60 points or some shit.

But!

If I was a key player on 2 or 3 Super Bowl teams and was MVP of a Super Bowl I would take that. I would be ok with being a key player on 2 or more Super Bowl teams rather than being on a Super Bowl team sitting on the bench just getting a pity ring.
