Eli Manning....
So with this SB win, where would you guys place him? Imo this makes him better than his brother Peyton. Sure hes not as precise like his brother, but he has won more SB, and imo is the most important stat. So what would your top 5 look like?
1. Brady (even though his recent SB loss, theres no arguing hes number one by the way he plays)
2. Brees (his game play is also top notch, and looks like a surgeon at times, though he needs to work on his play outside of domes)
3. Big Ben (his multiple SBs, and ability escape and make plays make him who he is)
4. Rodgers (if he eventually wins another SB, I put him higher, but after only playing 2 yrs I'll leave him at 4 for now)
5. Eli Manning (Im sure he still has work to do, but he has really come into his own lately, and has been playing well, Id say hes finally reached elite status)

Re: Eli Manning....
I would keep Eli at 5 and replace Big Ben with Peyton...you cant dismiss Peytons performance because of strictly Superbowls, the guy is a phenom and this is a team sport, he cant play defnese too

Re: Eli Manning....
How does this make Eli better than Peyton?..Eli typically has more help than Peyton and yet he still does worse.
I don't think # of Superbowl victories means anything in terms of determining where individual players rank.

Re: Eli Manning....
If I wanted to include Cam I would have done so...Its the truth no one else really deserves the 5 spot right now unless I want to name like 7 either QBs who arguably could.tripleaamin wrote:S-UNIT302 wrote:1. Brady

Re: Eli Manning....
Top 5:
1. Tom Brady- He puts up numbers and he wins. He makes undrafted cast offs into decent players. I think he's one of the best to ever play.
2. Drew Brees- It was tough but I went with Brees because hes done the same thing as Brady. Marques Colston? Jimmy Graham and others.
3. Aaron Rodgers- He's this low because I think the system helps him a lot, but he wins and he puts up numbers.
4. Eli Manning?- Based on last season and the postseason he deserves to be here.
5. Matthew Stafford? Needs more time, but I'll say I'm a little bias, but 41 TDs and 5000 says something.
Honorable Mention: Peyton Manning, not listed due to injury.

This! Take Eli off of the Giants and they'll struggle, but not as bad as the Colts did without Peyton. Unlike the Colts, the Giants actually have a defense to carry them

Re: Eli Manning....
I gotta say I feel like i should put Eli on the same lvl as Peyton, Ben, Brees and Rodgers as of right now. because he has 2 rings and not only that but 2 SB MVPs. not many can claim multiple MVP performances in the SB.
Thats gotta be worth something.
Of course I put Brady #1 though but after last night its a toss up for 2-5

Im not so sure, It IS a passing league. So the QB is one of if not THE most important position now in the league. If you dont have a suitable QB, your not getting to the SB. Add to that the Lombardi is the most coveted trophy in the NFL, and many things are based off it. I would say it means somehing on how many trophies a player has won....

Re: Eli Manning....
eli is a better qb than most. people dont like him which clouds their vision that the dude makes plays and its hard to define how other than practice, hard work, and luck

Re: Eli Manning....
If Eli continues to have sucess, even if he never wins another SB, I think he will have to be a serious contender to make it into the HOF, he will have to keep his completion % above 63% and make sure he throws more TDs than INTS and that should do it...QBs making it to the HOF are analyzed more on thier entire careers than any other positon, hes already on par for yardage
